Your tasks

  • In this profession, you will work in mechanical and technical fields. Thanks to their wide-ranging training, specialists in this profession are highly versatile.
  • Drilling, turning, milling and grinding, shearing, edging, bending and punching, screwing, soldering, riveting and welding. You’ll learn these machining and joining techniques – and much more besides – during your varied training. With this knowledge, and with the help of production documents and technical drawings, you’ll lay the foundations for manufacturing and repairing precision equipment and machine parts from metals and plastics. You’ll also be able to join these individual parts together or fabricate entire steel structures. Another area of responsibility you can expect is computer-controlled tool sharpening. You will then use measuring instruments to check the quality of the parts. Finally, you will also receive intensive training in occupational health and safety.
  • Once you have successfully completed your apprenticeship, you will have good prospects on both the domestic and international labour markets.

What you bring with you

  • Completed primary school
  • Enjoyment of working with your hands and using machines
  • Technical and practical understanding, as well as spatial awareness
