Your tasks
- Logistics specialists work in the warehouses of industrial, commercial and manufacturing businesses. They are employed wherever goods of any kind are transported, stored, distributed and managed – whether these are consumer goods, manufactured goods, letters, parcels or luggage.
- You receive delivered goods, check them and record them in the stock management system. Using forklift trucks, hand-operated pallet trucks or straddle carriers, you store the goods appropriately. You prepare ordered goods for dispatch. You will pack and label them, draw up the delivery documents and then load the vehicles correctly. Your duties will also include regularly checking stock levels to ensure there are neither excess stocks nor shortages.
- As goods are constantly being moved, you’ll have good prospects on the job market once you’ve successfully completed your apprenticeship.
