Would you like to combine the natural sciences with hands-on work? As a Food Technologist (EFZ), you’ll learn how carefully selected raw materials are turned into safe, high-quality and tasty products. During your three-year apprenticeship, you’ll gain fascinating insights into food production. You’ll work with modern equipment, monitor production processes and learn how quality, hygiene and efficiency all work together.

Your tasks
- You will carry out the manufacture of foodstuffs according to specified recipes and procedures
- You weigh out raw materials and prepare them for Production
- You operate and monitor production equipment
- You check temperature, weight, consistency and other quality characteristics
- You carry out simple analyses and quality checks
- You document production data and work steps
- You identify deviations and respond to them appropriately
- You comply with strict hygiene, safety and quality regulations
- You assist with cleaning, changeover and maintenance tasks

- You work carefully, neatly and responsibly
- You have a good understanding of numbers and how things fit together
- You’re hands-on and enjoy getting stuck in
- You can concentrate well and are reliable in your work
- You are curious and keen to learn about different areas of production
- You enjoy working as part of a team
- A good secondary school leaving certificate would be an advantage
